Just because David Cameron says something, our illustrious leader (Gordon Brown, current Prime Minister of Britain) feels he has to chip in with something equally offensive to the players of video games the world over.

“Parents are concerned about whether children are exposed to harmful violence and sexual imagery in games and on the internet.”

Are they indeed? I know I’m not, because I police my kids game playing and internet use fairly rigorously. He makes this claim without much in the way of proof, primarily to scare those that aren’t concerned into thinking they should be.

As a quick update to the open letter to David Cameron, I received a reply, not from the man himself but from a lackey, and it was the typical non-answer that I’ve come to expect from politicians. So much for opening a debate, its obvious to me that a debate about video games is not what our lords and masters are after. They simply want a non-issue to feed the masses in order to be seen to be doing something about it when the real problems have no easy solutions.
