In a move that has shocked few people, Sony today took the wraps off of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, a Super Smash Bros.-style fighting game featuring Sony characters.  Developed by SuperBot Entertainment, the game features six confirmed fighters so far.  They are:  Sly Cooper, PaRappa the Rapper, Kratos, Fat Princess, Sweet Tooth, and Colonel Radec from Killzone.    More characters will be revealed later.  PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale also features stages that combine elements from multiple games; for example, the Hades stage incorporates elements from both God of War and Patapon.

-Nick’s take:  I’m not sure how to feel about this one.  Super Smash Bros. is great because it features memorable characters from Nintendo’s huge stable of recognizable characters; how many recognizable characters does Sony really have?  The initial reveal includes characters such as Fat Princess and Colonel Radec–did anybody really want to see these two fight each other?  Uncharted‘s Nathan Drake is almost a given for a future reveal, but will original PlayStation mascot Crash Bandicoot even be in the game considering he has also featured in games on other systems?
