Legendary Nintendo developer Shigeru Miyamoto hopes to see new Metroid and Star Fox games come to the Wii U. In an interview with IGN, Miyamoto-san stated that he sees a lot of interesting potential for the Metroid series because of the Wii U GamePad: “”I feel like the possibilities of the GamePad for Metroid could be really fantastic. There’s certainly a lot that you could do there for that game.” Miyamoto-san went on to note that he’s even more excited about the prospect of a new Star Fox game for Wii U. Please note that this is NOT a confirmation that either title is currently in development. Still, Miyamoto-san obviously has a lot of sway at Nintendo…
-Nick’s take: It’s been far too long since we’ve been treated to a proper new Star Fox space shooter. A new Metroid game is intriguing, as well, but that’s almost too obvious.
