The Wii’s Virtual Console, which allows users to download and play games from a selection of older consoles, is to get a Neo Geo option. Neo Geo had the dubious accolade of being the most expensive home console available at the time of its release in the late ’80s with some games cartridges retailing for upwards of $200. The most well known games franchises which started their life on the Neo Geo were the King of Fighters series and Metal Slug. SNK Playmore USA president, Ben Herman (no he doesn’t make shirts aswell), said that the games would retail on the virtual console for “just a little above the Super NES point” of $8 (£4 at current exchange rates) per game.
