Fans of L. A. Noire may remember that game’s Rockstar Pass, which allowed owners of the game to prepurchase all of the game’s DLC for a discounted price. Now, Rockstar has announced the Rockstar Pass for Max Payne 3, which releases on May 15. The $30 Pass (a 35% discount, according to Rockstar) includes all of Max Payne 3‘s upcoming DLC, which seems to focus on the multiplayer portion of the game. The first DLC–called the “Local Justice Map Pack”–will release in June and features three new maps, three new modes, multiplayer challenges, and avatar items. The rest of the content included in the Rockstar Pass will release in the summer and fall.
-Nick’s take: I think Max Payne 3 is going to be an awesome game, but I also don’t want to pay 50% of the full game’s price for a few multiplayer content packs when I’m not even sure the multiplayer will be any good. Still, if you buy the game and really dig the multiplayer, then the Rockstar Pass may be a good deal for you.
