I’m off to a LAN party for the weekend so you’ll have to do without me till Monday. A a quick update before I go though here’s some things that have caught my eye this morning:
Gametrailers has a whole slew of videos from Sony’s Gamers Day 2007 event. Sony announced a huge 34 games for the PS3 at this event, with trailers and gameplay video galore including SOCOM Confrontation, Heavenly Sword and the quirky PSN title Pain.
Microsoft has vehemently denied rumours that they’ll be releasing a Blu-Ray drive for the 360, a crazy move if you ask me. Users of the 360 would probably be extremely grateful if they did so, it would save them forking out for a separate Blu-Ray player.
Skype are asking developers to build casual multiplayer games to be distributed and played over their network. The VoIP provider is looking for content for their gaming channel and says:
“We are searching for Casual Games, preferably multiplayer so that Skype buddies can play against each other. Keep in mind Skype is a huge international community, so community based games can be an advantage. However the rules are not too strict, so if you believe that your single player game fits Skype Game Channel profile, go ahead contact us”
If I can drag myself away from the carnage of the LAN party, and if I’m awake enough, I’ll be keeping an eye out for Blizzard’s announcement tomorrow. Everyone thinks its going to be Starcraft 2, but I’m not so sure. We’ll find out soon enough though.
