steamspace.jpgSteam’s new community feature went into beta testing a on Monday and I’m proud to announce that creation of a Gaming Moments group. Those of you with Steam can activate your participation in the beta by opening steam, going to file > Settings and activating your participation in the beta. After restarting Steam you’ll be prompted to enter some details about yourself to fill your profile, here’s mine.If you want to join the Gaming Moments group on Steam follow the link. In future, if we get enough members I’ll look into running games and special events.
As this is the beta, all features of the system won’t be activated yet, but in future you’ll be able to track which games your friends are playing, chat to them from outside the game, and track your friend’s and group’s stats. If Valve get their act together on this it may be like a kind of facebook for gamers, with the advantage over Microsoft’s Live in that it’s free.
