I will not even dare go into the political implications of this new viral flash video game that has gained a lot of popularity overnight. The game is titled Bush’s Boot Camp, where players must “kill” shoes that are thrown at the President. A crosshair is shown on the screen, which players must use to aim their shots. The goal of the players is to protect the President from the flying shoes. Each time the President gets hit by a shoe, his health meter goes down. The same thing happens if the President gets accidentally shot by players. When his health meter goes to zero, it is game over.
So what happened that game developers decided to create a game like this? Apparently, someone threw a shoe at Bush during a press conference in Iraq. The Telegraph has this story:
Television reporter Muntadar al-Zaidi was tackled to the ground by Secret Service personnel yesterday after he started to throw his shoes at Geroge W Bush during a press conference in Iraq. The footwear missed the president, who ducked just in time, but Mr Zaidi was bundled from the room yelling: “This is a farewell kiss, you dog,” at the President.
Footage of the attack has already been viewed more than half a million times on video-sharing site YouTube, and the viral computer game is proving popular with internet users.
I played the game just before writing this post. All I can say is it is a good game to play if you want to have some mindless fun. I have to admit that I actually shot the President several times”¦oops!
