DICE is at it again. Battlefield 3 got it’s first trailer just a few days ago, and while it didn’t show very much… hope’s are high for the latest installment in the Battlefield series.

DICE is boasting an all new animation system that will supposedly allow players to “drag fallen comrades into safety and mount weapons on almost any part of the terrain.”

A number of things point to Battlefield 3 reverting to the style from previous Battlefield titles.  “Paris, Tehran, and New York” are all confirmed locations, combine that with the ability to fly jets and the comeback of prone, and you really have a game that looks nothing like Bad Company.  A  return to urban combat might be just what the series needs… I’ve seen enough deserts and snow covered villages to last a lifetime.

Oh, and fantastic news for all of you long-time Battlefield fans. A limited edition of the game will ship with DLC titled “Back to Karkand” which will feature four maps and several weapons brought back from Battlefield 2.  Oh man, I am excited.

For the brave few souls out there that pre-ordered Medal of Honor, you should be getting your invite to the Battlefield 3 beta sometime in the next few months.

As for everyone else? I guess we’re just going to have to wait it out until Fall.
