The PlayStation Vita is off to a decent start. A Sony representative told website Joystiq that–as of June 30–the PlayStation Vita has sold 2.2 million units worldwide. That’s a decent amount of sales, but Nintendo’s competing 3DS has sold 19 million units worldwide.
-Nick’s take: The Vita has a long way to go if Sony hopes to dominate the handheld gaming market, as evidenced by the Vita’s sales relative to the 3DS. It’s still a decent start for Sony’s handheld, though, and the Vita is entering its first holiday season on-sale in the U.S. later this year.
